Who we are
Tsogang (it means “wake up” in Sotho). Tsogang Water and Sanitation, anorganisation not for profit making (NPO) 006-668 established in 1994 to support in rural communities. Tsogang is a tried, tested and trusted in the development sector, mainly in the WASH sector working with various stakeholders and individuals to improve the life of community members. The organisation currently works in Limpopo, Mpumalanga and Kwa-Zulu Natal Provinces of South Africa. Tsogang Water and Sanitation is also prepared to engage in trans-boundary programmes. Tsogang has worked in remote rural communities for 26 years helping to capacitate communities and create work through Water, Sanitation and community development projects.
Tsogang Water and Sanitation has committed an experienced staff members, who have been working with communities for more than twenty six years. The staff is capable to speak English, Afrikaans and most Nguni & Tsonga languages spoken in the country. The Organisation is competent, committed to support and addressing issues of poverty, unemployment, skills gaps, gender equality and empowerment of communities through our programmes and projects.
Tsogang Water and Sanitation provide infrastructure facilities for Water, Sanitation, Communal and Household gardens. We offer capacity building, coaching, mentoring, monitoring and evaluation. Tsogang has experience of working in Infrastructure Development like Water, Sanitation, School Buildings, Agriculture-Food Security initiatives, Social and Community Services, Community Safety, Basic Services and Maintenance, Local innovation & Entrepreneurship, Educational Support and Environmental Health and Hygiene Management.
The Organisation’s has a well trained human resource capital on issues relating to moderation, facilitating and assessing. On technical issues such as construction skills, agricultural, livelihoods, community participatory appraisals, gender mainstreaming and HIV/AIDS. This knowledge can be shared with locally based Community Based Organisations, Politicians and Traditional Authorities operating in the target communities to make sure that the right people benefit from our programmes.
Over the years to date , Tsogang Water and Sanitation has worked with Government Departments, Municipalities, Traditional Authorities, Community Organisations, Individual Households, NGOs and supported local based entrepreneurs, including women, people with disability, GBV and youth to participate in capacity building programmes. Our contributions are recognised by the WASH sector Locally, Provincially, Nationally and Globally.
To mitigate the effects of climate change through implementing Water and Sanitation provision, Food Security and Environmentally sensitive projects that improve people’s dignity.
